Your data, handled for the wallet.

This notice explains how ECW · eCash Wallet handles personal information when you use our public site, wallet, authentication, payment, security, and support surfaces.

Information we process

Depending on the features you use, ECW may process:

account and identity details you provide, such as name, email address, mobile number, country of residence, and business information;
authentication information returned by an identity provider when you choose Google, Apple, or another supported sign-in method;
wallet, account, payment, funding, transaction, and activity records needed to operate ECW;
device, browser, session, security, fraud-prevention, and diagnostic information generated when you use the service;
support messages and information you provide when asking for account assistance.

Why we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, authenticate users, operate wallet and payment features, show account activity, prevent abuse and fraud, investigate security events, provide support, maintain service reliability, and meet applicable legal or compliance obligations.

Service providers and partners

ECW uses specialist providers to operate parts of the service. Depending on the feature, these may include Supabase for authentication and data services, Netlify for web hosting and delivery, Google or Apple when you choose their identity services, and Paystack or other approved payment partners for supported payment or funding functions.

Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices as applicable to the service they provide.

Authentication and local storage

ECW may use browser storage for session state, security controls, and short-lived onboarding information. Authentication tokens and provider credentials are handled through the applicable identity flow. ECW does not place Google or Apple client secrets in the browser.

Sharing and legal requests

Information may be shared with service providers and financial partners when necessary to deliver a feature you request, and may be disclosed where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect users, ECW, or the integrity of the service.

Retention

Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service, maintain financial and security records, resolve disputes, and satisfy applicable legal or compliance obligations. Retention periods can differ by data type and service.

Security

ECW uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account and transaction data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their credentials, devices, and recovery channels.

Your choices

You can update supported profile and security information inside ECW. If you use Google or Apple sign-in, you can also review or revoke that provider connection from the relevant provider account controls. For privacy questions or account-data requests, use the ECW support and security assistance surface available from the wallet.

ECW is a financial technology platform, not a bank. Banking, payment, account, or currency services may be supplied by approved partners and may be available only in supported markets.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as ECW features, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when the notice changes materially.
